Title: Gas Technician

Salary: Ranges from $27.57 to $35.75 (dependent on experience)
Schedule: 4-10s (may vary between days, nights and weekends)

Focus: The Gas Technician is responsible for performing remedial repairs, preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to gas controls, natural gas, LP gas and fuel oil systems.


Gas Technician Essential Job Functions:

  • Tests and adjusts gas and oil safety devices and regulators.

  • Perform leak tests on piping and equipment.

  • Observe and read instruments, gauges, dials, etc. to determine operating conditions.

  • Read and interpret detailed prints, sketches, schematics, layouts, specifications, etc.

  • Identify and list production data such as quantities, pressures, alloy and operating conditions.

Gas Technician Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have high-school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must meet one (1) of the following requirements:

    • At least 1year working experience as a gas technician in an industrial setting; OR,

    • Formal Combustion control training; preferred and may be substituted for the work experience; OR,

    • Relevant military maintenance education and/ or experience.

  • Must have working knowledge of motors and motor controls.

  • Must be able to successfully complete specific environmental training and testing.

  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to read and interpret complex drawings, schematics, and operational or user manuals.

  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain a government driver's license.

  • Ability to lift, carry and push 50-75 pounds, by way of team lifts and use of support device (hand carts, pallet jacks, gondolas, etc.)

  • Ability and willingness to work Weekends, including overtime.


Location-Specific Requirements:

  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.

  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. To meet the government-facility requirements, the candidate must be a US citizen.
