Fund Controller

We are seeking an experienced Fund Controller to join a fast-growing private equity fund. This role will play a senior leadership position within the finance function, overseeing all aspects of fund accounting, financial reporting, and controls, while serving as a key partner to investment, operations, and senior leadership teams. The ideal candidate brings deep private equity fund expertise, strong judgment, and the ability to scale processes in a dynamic, high-growth environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • :Lead and oversee the full lifecycle of fund accounting across multiple private equity funds, including capital calls, distributions, management and performance fee calculations, and fund-level expenses
  • .Own the preparation, review, and delivery of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and partnership accounting standards
  • .Manage relationships with third-party fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reporting
  • .Review and oversee the general ledger, ensuring proper accounting treatment of complex fund transactions
  • .Direct investor reporting processes, including capital account statements, fund performance reporting, and ad hoc investor inquiries
  • .Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to support scalability and regulatory compliance
  • .Support regulatory, audit, and compliance requirements, including coordination of annual audits and tax filings
  • .Provide strategic financial insights and analysis to internal stakeholders, including the investment, operations, and executive teams
  • .Identify and implement process improvements, system enhancements, and best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency
  • .Mentor and manage junior accounting staff as the finance team continues to grow

Qualification

  • s:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred (CFA a plus
  • ).7+ years of progressive fund accounting experience, with significant exposure to private equity or alternative investment
  • s.Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, partnership accounting, private equity fund structures, and complex investment transaction
  • s.Proven experience managing fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisor
  • s.Strong proficiency in Excel and fund accounting systems; experience with Investran, eFront, or similar platforms highly desirabl
  • e.Demonstrated ability to design and improve accounting processes and internal control
  • s.Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skill
  • s.Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and interact with senior stakeholder
