Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Functional Safety Engineer to lead safety engineering activities for automotive systems. This role focuses on defining safety concepts, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 standards, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver safe and reliable vehicle systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead development of functional safety requirements and system architecture
- Review and approve HARA, FSR, TSR, validation plans
- Define functional safety concepts across system, hardware, and software
- Drive SOTIF analysis for ADAS/autonomous systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HW, SW, validation, design)
- Manage functional safety readiness, processes, and metrics
- Interface with suppliers to ensure compliance and alignment
- Support functional safety validation and audits
- Contribute to technical decision-making and risk mitigation
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, CS, Mechatronics or related)
- 8+ years of functional safety experience in automotive domain
- Strong understanding of ISO 26262 lifecycle and deliverables
- Experience with safety analysis, validation, and compliance processes
- Hands-on experience with functional safety tools and requirements management systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience in Agile environments
- Knowledge of Automotive SPICE, CMMI
- Experience in embedded systems (HW/SW development)
- Prior experience with ADAS / autonomous systems safety
