Job Description

This role operates a variety of material handling equipment to support production, assembly, and shipping activities in a large, clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. The forklift operator safely moves, stores, and tracks materials and finished goods while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting efficient production flow.

Responsibilities

  • Operate material handling equipment such as stand-up forklifts, overhead cranes, turret trucks, and pallet riders in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Load and unload trucks with incoming materials and outgoing finished goods.
  • Stock racking and storage locations based on production and assembly needs.
  • Supply assembly lines with purchased parts and materials in a timely manner.
  • Move finished goods and unload steel and other raw materials as required.
  • Complete receiving transactions for incoming materials using Inventory Management Software.
  • Place and pull materials and supplies from proper locations, including racks up to 20 feet in height.
  • Fulfill assembly requests for materials to support production schedules.
  • Complete service and product visibility requests as needed.
  • Use an RF scanner to complete all material transactions and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Visually inspect all orders and materials for defects or damage before movement or storage.
  • Accurately document incoming and outgoing materials and supplies in written and electronic formats.
  • Handle materials using safe and effective storage and material handling techniques.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment to meet production and shipping deadlines.
  • Stand for 8 or more hours per day while performing material handling and equipment operation tasks.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of stand-up forklift operating experience.
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts and other heavy material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of safe and effective storage and material handling techniques.
  • Ability to read and write accurately to document incoming and outgoing materials and supplies.
  • Ability to visually inspect orders and materials for defects.
  • Strong numerical skills and basic computer abilities for inventory and transaction entry.
  • Ability to use RF scanners for completing inventory transactions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness and physical ability to stand for 8+ hours per day.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience using Inventory Management Software for receiving and material transactions.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Comfort working at heights when placing and pulling materials up to 20 feet.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and material handling.
  • Reliability and consistent attendance to support production and shipping schedules.

Work Environment

We currently have a 1st shift position, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., or a 2nd shift position from 2:00pm-10:00pm Monday-Friday. The facility is climate controlled, large, and kept very clean. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment producing high-end stainless steel kitchen appliances. The role requires standing for most of the shift, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Steel-toe footwear is required as part of the dress code to ensure safety on the production floor.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50481.00 - $50481.00/yr.
