Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description

The Forklift Operator safely operates heavy material handling equipment to move, stage, and organize products throughout the facility. This role focuses on accurately picking orders for the next day, supporting shipping and receiving activities, and ensuring efficient product flow within a production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate sit-down and reach forklifts to safely move product loads throughout the facility.
  • Pick and stage orders accurately for the next day according to production and shipping schedules.
  • Support shipping and receiving functions, including loading and unloading materials and finished goods.
  • Handle products carefully to prevent damage while transporting, stacking, and storing items.
  • Follow established procedures and safety guidelines when operating forklifts and other equipment.
  • Use reach trucks and reach lifts to access and move materials stored at various heights.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining inventory in designated storage areas.
  • Communicate with team members and supervisors to coordinate material movement and order fulfillment.
  • Perform basic equipment checks and report any issues or safety concerns promptly.
  • Work efficiently in a production-focused environment to support manufacturing and distribution activities.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience operating reach forklifts in a warehouse or production environment.
  • Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to use reach trucks and reach lifts to move and store materials.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control principles.
  • Understanding of techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Ability to support shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading.
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience operating turret trucks is a plus.
  • Familiarity with case handling and product movement in a production setting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment.
  • Strong attention to detail when picking and staging orders.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.

Work Environment

The role is based on the production side of the facility, handling mouthwash products in an active manufacturing and distribution area. The building is not temperature controlled, so conditions may vary with the seasons. You will work around forklifts, production equipment, and palletized goods, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and teamwork in a busy operational environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fontana, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
