Mayzon is seeking a Forklift Mechanic to play an important role in helping to assure the smooth and successful management of innovative products into volume manufacturing.


About the Role


  • Professional who performs maintenance, repairs and servicing of forklift trucks and associated lifting equipment. Consults management regarding issues encountered.
  • Understands and performs daily job duties in a manner which supports the Company/ Department SAFETY – QUALITY – PRODUCTION goals and objectives.


Responsibilities


  • Perform routine, emergency and preventative maintenance on all lifting equipment.
  • Interpret manufacturer’s technical manuals to perform the necessary maintenance & repairs needed.
  • Maintain an organized and neat work area. · Troubleshoot forklift problems to include brake, electrical and hydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions.
  • Monitor the inventory in the shop and order parts when necessary.
  • Troubleshoot equipment for best repairable outcomes.
  • Perform installations and removals as needed.
  • Work and communicate with vendors to assist in repairs and warranty issues.
  • Work in conjunction with the Maintenance department.
  • Support the department 5S and housekeeping standards and implementation.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all types of lift equipment owned by Zenith Products Inc.
  • Establish and maintain documentation relevant to lift equipment repairs and PM processes.
  • Any assignment as directed per management within the scope of personal capabilities.


Indirect Skills


  • Perform housekeeping.
  • Drive to other locations for repairs of equipment.
  • Make service calls to repair equipment and vehicles away from maintenance shop area.
  • Responsible for locating and ordering necessary parts from vendors.
  • Support manufacturing within the department and facility and assist others


Required Skills


  • Familiarity with various hand tools and power tools; battery, pneumatic, and electric powered.
  • Familiarity with various types of lift equipment; battery, propane, and diesel.
  • Demonstrated ability to write legibly, to maintain records, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precaution


Personnel Characteristics


  • Available to work overtime, including weekends and vacation coverage.
  • Ability to use a crane according to Zenith’s safety requirements and policy.
  • Ability to communicate in English effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Able to use common sense.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
  • Understanding of basic computer programs.
  • Comfortable in the use of walkies and sit-down forklift. Training to be provided if necessary.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Physically capable of assisting with the moving and handling of tooling components.
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently.
  • Have a valid driver’s license
