Flow Controller

Our client, a leading global organization in industrial technology and automation, is seeking a mid-level Flow Controller to support supply chain operations at their Tualatin, Oregon facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and strengthening supplier relationships in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This position is ideal for a supply chain professional with strong upstream planning and forecasting experience, excellent collaboration skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure continuous flow of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies to support production
  • Manage supplier relationships and communications through purchasing systems and portals
  • Oversee purchase order lifecycle, including creation, tracking, and rescheduling
  • Coordinate open purchase orders and order scheduling activities
  • Manage upstream backorders and component shortages to maintain material availability
  • Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and address delays or discrepancies
  • Take daily action on Material Requirements Planning (MRP) messages and escalate recurring issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in short interval management (SIM)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with planning, procurement, and operations teams

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, or related field
  • Strong experience in planning, forecasting, and supply flow management
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work across multiple teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business applications
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
  • Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Background in cost analysis, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
  • Strong negotiation skills
