Being a Fitness Technician at the Health and Wellness Center in Green is a wonderful way to touch the lives of members and patients every day. In this role, you will be responsible for exercise floor coverage, equipment cleanliness, preventive maintenance, policy enforcement, member exercise incentive programming and delivering excellent customer service at all times. This is an ideal role for a college student who is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field. A caregiver in this position works varying shifts between 5:30AM – 10:00PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Make regular rounds of the exercise floor in an effort to ensure safety and assist members and guests with any exercise related issues or questions they may have.

  • Offer fitness instruction to individuals or in a group setting.

  • Follow the equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance check list.

  • Clean and inspect all equipment daily.

  • Follow established procedure when exercise equipment is found to be malfunctioning in an effort to get the equipment operational ASAP, including posting of the appropriate status signage, notifying the Manager and recording the problem in the equipment log located at the Fitness Service Desk.

  • Develop and implement member exercise incentive programs to motivate and enhance consistency and retention.

  • Maintain current information on all club programs, services and activities and promote regularly.

  • Display proficiency in the operation of the computer hardware and club management and fitness software.

  • Attend and positively contribute in all mandatory meetings and in-services.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Junior or Senior status pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or closely related field

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

  • Excellent communication and customer service-related skills

  • Ability to work variable hours as necessary

  • Basic computer operational skills

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • ACSM, ACE, AFAA, NSCA or related certifications

  • Experience in the supervision of fitness clients in either an individual or group setting


Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $15.00

Maximum hourly: $18.44
