The City of Rincon, GA Job Summary This position is responsible for respond ing to fire alarms, emergency medical calls, traffic accidents, rescue, and other emergency calls to protect life and propert y. Duties and Responsibilities • Respond to emergency and non -emergency incidents. • Provide emergency medical services and first aid. • Advocate for fire prevention and safety to public/ school programs • Provide manpower and assistance to neighboring fire and local EMS departments through mutual aid agreements. • Conduct pre -incident surveys on all businesses throughout coverage area, prepare and complete reports regarding incidents. • Perform routine maintenance on apparatus, performed detailed weekly inspections of all apparatus. • Perform daily inspections of all equipment and emergency medical supplies. • Perform weekly operation and cleaning of both aerial apparatuses. • Provide medical standby services to city for all major events. • Maintain cleanliness of station assigned. • Ensure proper maintenance and operation of all hydrants in coverage area. • Ensure proper maintenance and operation of all houseline’s both actively in service and in reserve. • Drill field training, physical training, teach CPR and First -Aid classes. • Performs related work as assigned. Minimum Education and Experienc e • High School diploma or GED. Required Certifications , Licenses , and/or Skills • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license . • Must pass drug screening and background check. • Firefighter I • EMT l or higher . • HAZMAT Operations . • Class B driver's license within 3 months of hire.
