Position Summary

The Financial Analyst III – Supply Chain FP&A provides financial guidance, analytical support, and actionable insights to the Distribution organization. This role partners closely with Supply Chain leadership to analyze performance, identify trends and variances, and support productivity and operational efficiency initiatives. The analyst will develop financial models, reports, and dashboards and serve as a key finance business partner to both corporate and field distribution teams.

This position interfaces with all levels of management and supports both routine reporting and special ad‑hoc analyses under varying levels of direction.

Boise, Idaho, or one of the Company’s Distribution Centers 
 

Main responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Performance Analysis 

  • Partner with the Vice President, Director, and Manager of Supply Chain Finance to develop and prepare key performance reports comparing actual results to plan and forecast 
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), articulate trends and insights, and identify risks and opportunities 
  • Prepare monthly business reviews with clear, actionable analysis and recommendations 

Data Analysis & Modeling 

  • Drive a data‑driven, analytical approach to identifying variances between actual results and planned or forecasted performance 
  • Source data from primary and secondary systems and create, maintain, and enhance multifaceted databases 
  • Build financial models, dashboards, and business intelligence tools to evaluate complex scenarios and strategic initiatives 
  • Quantify financial and operational impacts to the P&L 

Business Partnership & Decision Support 

  • Act as a finance business partner to the Distribution organization at both corporate and field levels 
  • Provide analytical support for ad‑hoc requests, special projects, and value‑added improvement initiatives 
  • Proactively identify opportunities to provide analytical solutions that support business objectives 

Process Improvement & Efficiency 

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on people efficiency, process effectiveness, automation, and technical tool utilization 
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, analysis, and data management processes 

Project & Work Management 

  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines 
  • Follow through on identified issues and deliver timely, accurate financial insights 

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent work experience 
  • Master’s degree preferred but not required 

Experience 

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial analysis, data analysis, financial modeling, finance, accounting, or a related field 
  • Retail or CPG industry experience preferred 

Technical & Analytical Skills 

  • Strong ability to analyze, interpret, and report on large financial data sets 
  • Proven problem‑solving skills using structured analytical frameworks 
  • Advanced data‑mining and analytical tool experience, including:  
  • Excel (advanced) 
  • SQL / Snowflake or similar analytical data warehouses 
  • Tableau, Power BI, or other business intelligence tools 
  • Oracle or similar ERP systems 
  • Essbase experience preferred 
  • Experience working with syndicated data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI) a plus 

Communication & Professional Skills 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to all levels of the organization 
  • Excellent presentation and storytelling skills 
  • Customer‑focused, well‑organized, and self‑motivated 
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating across teams 
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment
