Atlantic Health is seeking a full-time Financial Analyst II for the Fiscal Services department at Morristown Medical Center.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
The Financial Analyst will play a critical role in analyzing and interpreting financial data, contributing to strategic decision-making, and ensuring the hospital's financial health. The ideal candidate is curious about numbers, data, business, and healthcare; Operations-based mindset is a plus. This role is a balance between financial analysis, business strategy, and implementation planning.

- Collaborate with the CFO and Finance team to develop, monitor, and analyze financial performance metrics, budgets, and forecasts.
- Generate detailed financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, variance analyses, and trend reports.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, outliers, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
- Assist in preparation of annual operating budget for the site. Work with budget analyst and CFO in troubleshooting any issues.
- Work with the accounting team to facilitate month end close and variance reporting.
- Utilize HBI/HPM cost accounting system to provide contribution margin analysis reports to aid in strategic decision making.
- Assist in the development and evaluation of strategic financial plans, capital expenditure proposals, and business cases for new initiatives.
- Provide support in evaluating the financial impact of potential contracts, partnerships, and business development opportunities.
- Monitor and assess key performance indicators (KPIs) related to hospital operations, revenue generation, and expense management.
- Collaborate with department heads to gather and analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy and consistency across various departments.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial presentations for executive leadership and board meetings.
- Assist in the preparation of financial models and scenarios to support long-term financial planning and risk assessment.
- Participate in the annual budgeting process, providing insights and recommendations to align budget allocations with strategic goals.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in healthcare finance.
- Support ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as directed by the CFO.
- Analyze the productivity metrics across MMC.
- Assist in implementation and completion of any external benchmarking engagement.
- Utilize external benchmarks to drive productivity across the system.
- Assist (as needed) with on-site productivity meetings with department leadership and staff.
