Job Description

The Finance Intern will support core finance and reporting activities while gaining hands-on experience in financial analysis and data-driven decision-making. This role is ideal for an extremely entry-level candidate who is highly tech-savvy and eager to learn modern finance tools and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing basic financial reports and summaries under guidance from senior team members.
  • Support financial data collection, organization, and validation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform introductory financial analysis, such as comparing actuals to expectations and identifying basic trends.
  • Help maintain and update financial data in spreadsheets, databases, or other reporting tools.
  • Contribute to the preparation of simple presentations and reporting packages for internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline finance and reporting processes using technology and data tools.
  • Learn and follow established finance procedures, documentation standards, and data handling practices.
Essential Skills
  • Strong interest in finance and financial analysis.
  • Comfort working with data and numbers in a structured and detail-oriented manner.
  • High level of technical aptitude and enthusiasm for using technology and digital tools.
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts such as revenue, expenses, and profit.
  • Proficiency with standard office software, including spreadsheets and presentation tools.
  • Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Pursuing or holding a degree in a relevant field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Degree or active enrollment in finance, accounting, economics, business, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Exposure to basic financial reporting or coursework in finance and accounting.
  • Familiarity with data analysis or data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Interest in leveraging technology to improve financial processes and reporting.
Work Environment

The Finance Intern will work in a professional office environment that emphasizes learning, collaboration, and the use of technology in finance. The role involves frequent use of computers, spreadsheets, and other digital tools to manage and analyze financial data. Working hours typically follow standard business office schedules, with expectations to meet deadlines and support periodic reporting cycles. The intern will interact regularly with finance team members and may participate in meetings, training sessions, and collaborative projects. Business-appropriate attire is expected in line with a professional office setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Cordova, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
