***THIS IS A SCDPPPS INTERNAL POSTING ONLY***Under general supervision of the Director of Training Compliance and Professional Development, manages and oversees the Basic and Field Training Program for newly hired agents; coordinates and assists with training, logistics, and scheduling of the Field Training, Arrest Scenario Training, the New Agent Firearms Program, and New Agent Driving Orientation (NADO) and all other training required for new Agents; develops and conducts complex, multi day training programs and annual updates for staff; assists with coordinating training materials in preparation of scheduled training classes, to include lesson design development. Manages and coordinates PPP Agent Basic Training. Supervises all Field Training Officers who oversee the field training program for newly hired Agents/OSS and serve as instructors/facilitators for PPP Basic Training.
A bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses and experience in probation and parole work. An associate’s degree and two (2) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council in accordance with 23-23-40 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976.NOTE: Must be currently Class 1 (C -1) certified law enforcement officer from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Will be required to obtain instructor Certification through the CJA to serve as an instructor for Firearms, Driving, Taser and/or Defensive Tactics.
A bachelor's degree and at least one year experience as a Field Training Officer.
