Field Service Technician

Arlon EMC is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Technician to install, service, and support capital equipment in the field, used in Semiconductor, PCB and PCBA manufacturing environments. This role is responsible for equipment installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilding at customer sites. The ideal candidate is hands-on, self-directed, customer-focused, and operates with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and service capital equipment at customer facilities
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment rebuilds
  • Conduct equipment audits and performance evaluations
  • Provide on-site technical support to resolve customer production challenges
  • Document service activities and generate detailed service reports
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication and responsive service


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Semiconductor, PCB or PCBA manufacturing environment, or a related industry
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
  • legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Stable work history with verifiable positive references
  • Bilingual - fluent in Mandarin. This role requires fluency in Mandarin to support effective communication with customers and vendors in Mandarin-speaking markets.



Required Skills & Abilities

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to Taiwan no more than 30% of the time. Majority of travel is local to the west coast.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining PLC-controlled equipment
  • Comfortable working around industrial equipment, chemicals, and environmental conditions typical of PCB and PCBA manufacturing facilities

  • Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to push/pull 200 lbs.
  • Must be able to move/ manipulate equipment weighing up to 1000 lbs. with the assistance of carts, pallet jacks, equipment skates or other devices as required.
  • Job requires frequent bending, stooping, twisting, turning, and working in unusual positions requiring full body mobility.
  • Must be able to work safely and follow safety precautions in all environments (temperature, humidity, noise, confined spaces, etc.) around potentially dangerous industrial equipment.
