WORK SCHEDULE FOR A FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

This position typically works from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm when not deployed. When deployed, hours and travel will vary based on customer needs.


POSITION SUMMARY

The candidate will perform scheduled and unscheduled Robot service tasks. Additionally, the Field Service Technician will assist customers and/or Robot Supervisors with technical issues as they arise in the field. This position will involve travel up to 50% of the time. When not at job sites, the candidate will assist with operational job tasks that support various work activities at Advanced Construction Robotics.


FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN RESONSIBILITIES

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on the fleet of lease Robots and all Tie Modules.
  • Serve as an on-call technician that will assist customers and the Robot Supervisors with technical issues.
  • Troubleshoot and determine component failures. Coordinate field repairs with the Field Operations Supervisor.
  • Deploy to jobsites to troubleshoot and repair unserviceable Robots.
  • Train rental and sales customers to properly operate and maintain the Robots.
  • Complete all post-assembly Engineering Change Orders to the fleet of Robots.
  • Support the Robot Supervisor staff when lease demands require additional support.
  • Comfortable traveling in an F-250 service truck or on an airplane.
  • Must be willing to cross train in all other areas of production and assembly.
  • Production related tasks of sub-assemblies and assemblies to construct a robot.
  • Wiring and assembling electrical panels
  • Assembling cable harnesses from drawings, including correct cable lengths, crimping and terminating connectors
  • Installing finished wire harnesses into a sub-assembly / assembly.
  • Testing of panels and connectors by checking continuity from schematics and following documented test procedures
  • Assisting with maintaining of parts inventory: stocking, receiving, documenting, maintaining of work stations.
  • Repairing & reworking of finished material according to engineering changes.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS FOR FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

  • 2-4 years of technical service experience
  • 1-2 years of mechanical assembly experience
  • 1-2 years of electrical harness/panel assembly experience
  • Experience on construction sites a plus but not required
  • CDL or truck/trailer driving a plus but not required
  • Basic computer skills
  • Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Navigate and use inventory and parts management systems
  • Locate and view engineering drawings
  • Ability to communicate with managers and other team members
  • Ability to communicate and interact with customers
  • Must have great attention to detail
  • Possess the ability to recognize problems and create and present solutions
  • Preparing production reports along with other reports as needed
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION:

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects. Project sites contain various safety hazards associated with heavy construction. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
