Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing exceptional support and service to our clients, helping them enhance their productivity and sustainability through advanced manufacturing systems, software, and services. The position is based in the Chicago area and requires 100% travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary customer support contact to diagnose and execute repairs and troubleshooting at customer sites.
• Maintain a high level of customer service by building strong internal and external customer and vendor relationships.
• Collaborate closely with other departments such as Technical Support, Installation, Software, Sales, and Training.
• Provide on-site and in-house customer service, including occasional remote support.
• Travel to customer sites both locally and out-of-state as required to support pre-sales technical sales.
• Continuously develop and maintain current technical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and attend various meetings related to sales, service, company operations, and customer relations.

• Minimum of 4 years experience in field troubleshooting PLCs and equipment.
• Proficiency with PLCs, including Beckhoff, Allen-Bradley, or Siemens.
• Strong technical knowledge in electronics, mechanical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Ability to travel 100% of the time.
• Strong knowledge of CNC.
• Mechanical aptitude.

• Experience with VFD and Frequency Drives.

This role requires 100% travel to client sites and is ideal for someone based in the Chicago area to minimize travel costs. The position involves working closely with a team of experts in various departments to ensure comprehensive client support.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
