This is a senior leadership position and will be based out of our fully equipped facility in Crown Point Indiana. The successful candidate must have the ability to coordinate and oversee multiple projects in industrial power systems and critical industrial rotating equipment simultaneously. The position will involve virtually no overnight travel, but extensive experience in field service is a must if you are to be effective in this position as the leader over our team of excellent field service technicians.

Position overview:

  • Lead in the direction of day-to-day operations for field service projects
  • Promote an uncompromising safety culture
  • Assist with technical questions from customers, sales personnel, subcontractors, or vendors
  • Track and update technician availability for the scheduling department
  • Regularly review schedules and direct adjustments to correct inefficient time allocations, underutilization / overutilization of resources and changed priorities
  • Ensure test data and reports are accurate and submitted in a timely manner
  • Conduct quality control reviews and evaluate job profitability metrics
  • Assist in the direction of day-to-day operations for in-shop work
  • Ensure proper methods and procedures are executed and documented
  • Assist with onboarding of new technicians and participate in annual performance reviews


Qualifications

  • At least 3-10 Years experience in switchgear/substation/transformer maintenance and/or rotating equipment repair (electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, etc.)
  • Creditable field service experience at large industrial end users
  • Strong written and verbal business communication skills
  • Familiarity with and exposure to electrical testing equipment such as insulation resistance testing, vibration analysis, balancing theory, power factor, insulation, TTR devices, or similar tools
  • Engineering or Associates Degree a plus
  • Scheduling or project coordination experience
  • Experience with successfully building teams and comfort with promoting and building a culture of excellent service
