Pay Range: $70,000 – $103,000 / year + Benefits

Overview

An established organization in the semiconductor industry is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support installation, maintenance, and performance optimization of advanced electro-mechanical equipment at customer sites. This role plays a critical part in ensuring operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and customer satisfaction across a global installed base.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installation, maintenance, repair, and relocation of complex electro-mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues to the component level, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct system start-ups, upgrades, and field modifications as required.
  • Maintain detailed service records, reports, and documentation for internal and customer use.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and improve system performance.
  • Provide technical support, guidance, and mentoring to junior engineers.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to understand needs, provide solutions, and build strong relationships.
  • Stay current with evolving semiconductor equipment technologies through training and certifications.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting of semiconductor or similar capital equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and technical manuals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work in cleanroom environments and use appropriate safety equipment.
  • Ability to travel frequently (domestic and international) and work flexible schedules, including overtime or on-call support.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with standard office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience providing customer-facing technical support in a field environment.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work in cleanroom environments requiring specialized protective equipment.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting for extended periods.
