SMITH | STRONG, PLC, family law (divorce/custody/adoptions), estate/fiduciary litigation, and estate planning, in the West End of Richmond, seeks attorney for established divorce & custody practice. Experience in family law recommended.  Option to expand into estate and fiduciary litigation if desired.

We'll provide the support and staff (including your own paralegal, billing coordinator, and new client intake specialist) you need.  We provide you with the clients, training, and support you need—we seek a capable, experienced attorney ready to begin.  We will provide training (if desired, as long as you need), and have weekly family law meetings with all attorneys and staff together to ensure questions are resolved as need arises, along with mentorship and weekly lunches with colleagues.

We offer healthcare, retirement, professional development, training, monthly bonus and balanced work/life schedule of 8:30 - 5:00 PM, M-F, with 4 weeks off per year. Pay averages:  $145,000 - $285,000 + benefits.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Richmond, VA, for a Family Law Attorney. Responsibilities include representing clients in family law and estate litigation cases, preparing motions and participating in trials, conducting depositions, and collaborating with legal teams throughout court proceedings. The role also involves providing personalized legal counsel and developing strategies that meet the unique needs of each client. We will provide the clients, staff support, billing coordinator, and new client services coordinator--so you have the tools you need to do what you do best: practice law, and live a balanced life.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Family Law and/or Estate Litigation, with a comprehensive understanding of legal principles of one or both;
• Proficient in drafting and handling Motions and related legal documents;
• Experience in Courts, including case management and hearing preparation;
• Skilled in conducting Trials and Depositions;
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities;
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach;
• Active membership with the Virginia State Bar;
• Ability to work effectively as part of a cohesive legal team;
• Prior experience in family law or estate litigation is preferred.
