The Position
Do you enjoy interacting and building relationships with the public? Then come join the team at the Maple Grove Community Center as a Building Supervisor! In this position, you will get to interact with new individuals on a daily basis and meet our active and diverse community. In addition, you will hep provide exceptional customer service to visiting patrons, help monitor the facility and program/activities, and facilitate proper security and emergency procedures when needed. As the Building Supervisor you will also be responsible for providing supervision and direction to other community center staff members.
**Apply immediately, interviews are conducted as applications are received**Part-time hours, morning, evenings and weekends.- Understands, reflects, communicates, and assures that customers are conducting themselves according to established policies. Resolve customer concerns in accordance with standards of procedures.
- Monitors and responds to behavior, safety, and emergency situations.
- Direct facility usage to include adhering to scheduled start/end times in accordance with the issued permit for the Community Center including interior/exterior events.
- Assures that facility set-up and tear-downs for events are completed in a timely manner. Completes all preparation requirements for a given permit.
- Assures proper use of equipment provided to facility users.
- Administers basic first aid and directs emergency procedures in the event of an emergency.
- Responsible for security procedures including opening or closing the facility.
- Operates cash register, performs proper cash procedures, and accurately completes reports.
- Assists the management team to coordinate and monitor facility operations such as the concessions, indoor playground area, pool, arena, gym, etc.
- Oversees and assists in the supervision of part-time staff as designated by the Facility Coordinators.
- Performs general cleaning and light maintenance duties.
- Performs daily verbal and/or written communication and completes necessary reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Conducts tours and processes room rental information accurately and promptly.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Ability to: - Interact with the public, co-workers, and supervisor in a professional manner.
- Work by oneself with no direct supervision.
- Make decisions using judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Follow through and adhere to details defined on permits.
- Accurately complete reports.
- Flexible schedule to include early morning to late evening, holidays, weekends, and overnight.
- Operate technical and mechanical equipment including multimedia, lighting, and food service equipment.
- Skills in basic personal computer operation.
- Stand or sit for long periods of time.
- Tolerate moderate noise levels.
Need to have: - Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds individually and move tables with assistance up to 175 pounds.
Nice to have: - Experience working in crowd control and facility supervision.
- Experience with computers.
- Experience in performing custodial/cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Current C.P.R. certification and Red Cross Basic First Aide training preferred.
