Project Overview
This role supports the facility management of a newly constructed 26-story Civil and Probate Courthouse in Miami, FL. This is part of a long-term operations and maintenance contract, responsible for maintaining all building systems (interior and exterior) to ensure uninterrupted courthouse operations.
The environment is mission-critical, requiring high standards in safety, uptime, and system performance.
Position Summary
The Facility Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading daily maintenance operations, supervising technicians, and ensuring optimal performance of all building systems with a strong focus on HVAC, mechanical systems, and high-rise facility maintenance.
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for candidates who have progressed from technician to supervisor and bring both technical expertise and team leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians
- Assign, prioritize, and track work orders for timely completion
- Perform and oversee maintenance and repairs across:
- HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, cooling towers, heat exchangers)
- Mechanical systems (pumps, motors)
- Electrical systems and fire/life safety systems
- Plumbing and potable water systems
- Building Automation Systems (BMS/BAS)
- Conduct routine facility inspections and proactively address issues
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inventory
- Coordinate with subcontractors/vendors for specialized services
- Train and guide junior technicians
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency maintenance
- Work from schematics, drawings, and technical instructions
- Promote a strong safety culture and operational excellence
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years in facility maintenance/building operations
- Prior supervisory or lead experience managing technicians
- Experience in commercial or high-rise buildings
- Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with:
- HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers)
- Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS)
- Preventive and corrective maintenance experience
- Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues
- Certifications & Education: Technical degree OR equivalent hands-on experience/apprenticeship
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and regulations

- Tools & Systems: Experience with CMMS systems

- Other Requirements: Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass background check
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification
- Additional certifications in HVAC or mechanical systems
- Experience working in mission-critical environments (courthouse, hospital, data centers, etc.)
- Experience with tools such as Procore, Smartsheet
- Bilingual – Spanish (preferred)
