Location: Algona, WA

Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Reports To: Senior Facility & Maintenance Manager

Travel Required: Yes, travel to the Tacoma and Redmond locations is required.

Compensation: $23.00 – 25.00 per hour, paid bi-weekly and subject to applicable taxes

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1:30pm-10:00pm. With shared On-Call rotation.

Summary

COMC is looking to hire a Facility & Maintenance Associate. This person will be responsible for safely performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment, to support the company's business goals and objectives. They will exemplify COMC’s core values and C.A.R.D. culture through action and mentorship.

The ideal candidate would have experience as a maintenance technician and possess a strong level of attention to detail who thrives in an ever-changing environment. They will be a collaborative employee with outstanding interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, and motivational skills. They are discreet, tactful, and timely. They will proactively seek out opportunities to build and maintain partnerships internally and externally. They thrive in a demanding, fast, and ever-changing environment. The ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, understand, and clarify business needs, and develop processes that achieve business objectives is a key indicator of success for this position.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems
  • Use MaintainX to track and manage maintenance tickets
  • Safely operate common hand and power tools (e.g., table saws, band saws, drill press)
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, fixtures, and facility issues
  • Respond to maintenance requests and urgent repairs to minimize downtime
  • Complete preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures
  • Work with outside vendors and contractors when needed
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and inspections
  • Safely operate tools and equipment such as ladders, pallet jacks, and power tools
  • Complete basic carpentry tasks (repairs, shelving, fixtures)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility (inside and outside)
  • Follow all safety guidelines and building codes
  • Support additional facility needs as they come up
  • Maintain high standards of quality, reliability, confidentiality, and exemplify the organization's C.A.R.D. culture (Collaboration, Accountability, Results, Diversity).

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience working with mechanical systems (e.g., pumps, motors, HVAC)
  • 2+ years of experience using hand and power tools for repairs and small build projects
  • 2+ years of experience with electrical systems, including safe troubleshooting practices
  • 2+ years of experience with plumbing repairs and maintenance
  • Familiarity with workplace safety standards (OSHA)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify issues and implement practical, cost-effective solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Office)
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve

Education & Experience

  • Strongly preferred, OSHA 10/30-hour General Industry Certification
  • Preferred, EPA 608 Certification
  • Preferred, First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Preferred, Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician
  • High School Diploma/GED required, bachelor’s degree preferred

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role works across a variety of environments, including warehouse and office settings, and may involve exposure to both indoor and outdoor conditions, including hot and cold temperatures as well as temperature-controlled spaces.

The position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking; use of standard office equipment (computers and phones); operation of mechanical and power tools; and climbing ladders.
