National Tropical Botanical Garden Facilities Technician Lawai, Kauai JOB POSTING The National Tropical Botanical Garden is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a full-time Facilities Technician at our Lawai Gardens (Allerton and McBryde). This position assists with the upkeep, maintenance and repair of the complex. Knowledge of irrigation systems and repair is essential . Candidates must also be proficient in heavy equipment operation. Some assignments also require a variety of abilities that could include: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, and locksmith skills. Requires the demonstrated ability to work safely and efficiently with minimum supervision. Experience using a variety of equipment, including hand held power tools and heavy equipment. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record; CDL endorsement highly desired. Must have, or be able to obtain, an OSHA 10 certification and CPR/first aid certification within required time frame after hire. Position will be required to work in a variety of conditions, including outdoors with variable weather conditions. The successful candidate must be physically capable of performing the sometimes physically demanding essential functions of the position.
