Job Description

The Facilities Technician maintains and repairs all store equipment and building systems, ensuring that all locations operate safely, efficiently, and in full support of a positive customer experience. This role focuses on HVAC, refrigeration, petroleum equipment, and general facility maintenance, including preventative maintenance, repairs, and environmental compliance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain store equipment, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, petroleum equipment, and overall facilities in safe and reliable working order.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues accurately and perform repairs according to established procedures to minimize parts usage and downtime.
  • Complete scheduled and assigned preventative maintenance on all store equipment to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life.
  • Perform scheduled and assigned washing and cleaning of store windows to support a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Communicate maintenance issues, facility and equipment improvement opportunities, and outside service vendor performance concerns to the Facility Support Manager in a timely and clear manner.
  • Utilize the maintenance work order system to accept and complete repair calls, close completed calls, enter detailed resolutions, and update work orders according to company policies and procedures.
  • Complete all assigned work by required deadlines and respond to high-priority calls in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Use appropriate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, welding tools, outdoor equipment, and motorized equipment safely and effectively while performing maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Support environmental compliance programs by properly maintaining equipment and following established maintenance and repair procedures.

Essential Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on training experience in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or a related trade without a skilled trade license.
  • Universal EPA 608 certification.
  • Experience performing facilities maintenance, building repairs, and general building maintenance.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems, refrigeration, and related mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance on a wide range of facility and store equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools such as hammers, measuring devices, wrenches, and levels.
  • Ability to safely operate power hand tools such as saws, drill presses, grinders, and sanders.
  • Ability to use HVAC gauges and specialized HVAC equipment.
  • Experience working with lighting systems, basic plumbing, painting, carpentry, drywall repair, and general handyman tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in the field.
  • Ability to manage multiple work orders and meet required deadlines.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harrisburg, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
