Facilities Maintenance Technician

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for addressing maintenance issues and projects within the facilities. This includes both simple handyman tasks and facility improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily walk-throughs of buildings to identify and address any issues, ensuring everything is in good working order.
• Prioritize and address the facility's needs for repairs and projects.
• Complete small electrical projects as needed.
• Utilize knowledge and skills for various facility upkeep needs.
• Collaborate closely with the maintenance team and department manager regarding the progress and success of facility needs.
• Use computers and complete necessary paperwork.
• Operate all tools required to complete maintenance projects.
• Troubleshoot daily issues effectively.

• 1+ years of experience in building maintenance (commercial or residential) or considerable experience in skillsets such as carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, wiring, low voltage, framing, mudding, painting, and groundskeeping.

• Proficiency in plumbing, HVAC, painting, drywall, carpentry, groundskeeping, and lighting.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing environment across multiple facilities. The shift is Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with mandatory overtime as needed. The environment can be noisy with temperature extremes and equipment hazards. Dress code includes work-appropriate shirts, jeans or shorts, and steel-toe footwear. The facility is not temperature-controlled, so it can get hot. Training will be hands-on with the maintenance team, focusing on safety protocols.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Des Moines, IA.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in West Des Moines,IA.
