Job Title: Maintenance Technician – Private Club Facilities

Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing facilities and equipment at a private country club golf course. The Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs on kitchen equipment, refrigeration systems, HVAC systems, plumbing, carpentry, and general building and grounds, while providing excellent customer service to club members and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on commercial kitchen equipment, including stoves and ovens.
  • Maintain and repair refrigeration systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
  • Support HVAC system maintenance and repairs, focusing on mechanical components and non-live electrical work.
  • Perform basic plumbing tasks to maintain restrooms, kitchens, and other facility areas.
  • Carry out carpentry work to maintain and repair building structures, fixtures, and furnishings.
  • Assist with electrical maintenance tasks that do not involve live electrical work.
  • Conduct general facilities and building maintenance, including painting, mechanical repairs, and upkeep of motors and related equipment.
  • Support property maintenance across the golf course, working both indoors and outdoors as needed.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and facility issues, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs.
  • Perform fabrication and welding tasks when needed to repair or modify equipment and fixtures.
  • Document maintenance activities and communicate repair needs and status updates to the team.
  • Provide professional, courteous customer service when working around and with private club members.
  • Collaborate closely with other technicians and the engineering team to prioritize tasks and complete work efficiently.
  • Follow safety procedures and best practices while performing all maintenance and repair activities.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience working with commercial or retail kitchen equipment.
  • 5+ years of refrigeration maintenance and repair experience.
  • 5+ years of HVAC maintenance and repair experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair skills.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance on a variety of facility systems and equipment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, refrigeration, and HVAC issues.
  • Basic plumbing skills to support facility maintenance.
  • Basic electrical maintenance experience, excluding live electrical work.
  • Carpentry skills to perform building and fixture repairs.
  • Ability to perform painting and general building upkeep.
  • Experience with motors and related mechanical components.
  • Ability to perform fabrication and welding tasks as needed.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with private club members and staff.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small, collaborative maintenance team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • HVAC experience with EPA certification is a plus.
  • Experience in facilities, facility maintenance, or building maintenance environments.
  • Experience as a maintenance technician in commercial or retail settings is highly beneficial.
  • Comfort working in both indoor and outdoor settings, including golf course environments.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support colleagues and share knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate work with team members and facility stakeholders.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to maintenance best practices.

Work Environment

The position is based at a private country club golf course, with work performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. You will work closely with two other technicians and an engineering leader as part of a small, tight-knit team. The culture emphasizes teamwork, mutual support, and strong customer service, as you will frequently work around and interact with club members and staff. The role involves hands-on work with kitchen equipment, refrigeration systems, HVAC systems, plumbing, carpentry, electrical maintenance (non-live), motors, and general building and facilities maintenance. The schedule and tasks may vary based on facility needs, and you should be comfortable moving between different areas of the property and adapting to changing priorities while maintaining a professional appearance appropriate for a private club setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
