The Electrical Designer will be responsible for the design, development, and documentation of Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) electrical systems for industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects. The role involves preparing detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications while ensuring compliance with applicable standards, codes, and client requirements.
Electrical Design & Engineering
- Develop detailed LV and MV system designs, including power distribution, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, panels, and protection systems
- Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, load schedules, cable schedules, routing layouts, and termination drawings
- Perform electrical calculations such as Load flow and demand calculations, Short-circuit and fault level calculations, Voltage drop and cable sizing and Protection coordination and earthing calculations
- Ensure designs comply with relevant IEC / IEEE / IS / NEC standards, project specifications, and statutory requirements
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical designs with civil, mechanical, and instrumentation disciplines
- Use design software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP, SKM, DigSILENT, or equivalent
- Prepare technical documents including design basis, datasheets, BOQs, specifications, and vendor drawing reviews
- Support procurement by evaluating technical bids and conducting vendor clarifications
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOP/HAZID, and client meetings
- Provide engineering support during construction, testing, and commissioning phases
- Resolve site queries and manage design changes effectively
