Under administrative direction, plans, directs, and provides strategic leadership for Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) internal financial and business operations; implements fiscal policies, practices, and performance metrics to assess financial management and ensure long-term fiscal stability; evaluates and implements operational processes, practices, and systems that support organizational fiscal efficiency and alignment with LACOE’s Strategic Plan.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the FollowingKnowledge:- Concepts, principles, practices, and techniques of financial management and business administration including accounting, auditing, budgeting, and internal controls
- Principles and practices of systems design, implementation, and management of integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) financial and accounting software
- State, federal, and local statutes, codes, rules, regulations and policies applicable to assigned areas of responsibility
- Fundamental concepts of employment laws, codes, and regulations, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, and Cal/OSHA and applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements

Required Education and ExperienceEducation:A bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, finance, or other field closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Experience:Seven years of experience overseeing financial and business operations in a public agency, including three years supervising staff responsible for the development, monitoring, and administration of budgets.
Equivalency Provision:A master’s degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, finance, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification, may substitute on a year-to-year basis for up to two years of the required general experience.
Additional Requirements:A valid California driver's license and the ability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites is required.
Hybrid remote schedules may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE may require employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
Selection ProcessCandidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a Training and Experience (T&E) Evaluation and a Structured Interview.
