Method Co. is seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Chef to lead the culinary direction of upcoming restaurant concepts in Philadelphia. This is an opportunity to shape new dining experiences within a design-forward hospitality company known for thoughtful hotels, restaurants, and cultural destinations.


The ideal candidate brings a strong fine dining background, a passion for ingredient-driven cuisine, and the ability to build and lead high-performing culinary teams. This role will collaborate closely with Method Co.’s leadership, design, and operations teams to create restaurants that are both culinary destinations and deeply rooted in place.

Position Overview

The Executive Chef will lead the culinary development and daily operations for upcoming restaurant concepts in Philadelphia. This individual will be responsible for concept development, menu creation, kitchen leadership, and operational performance, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and hospitality.

The ideal candidate combines creative culinary leadership with strong financial acumen, bringing the ability to manage food cost, labor, and kitchen budgets while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead culinary vision and menu development for new restaurant concepts
  • Oversee all kitchen operations including staffing, training, and performance management
  • Maintain exceptional standards for food quality, presentation, and consistency
  • Manage kitchen financial performance including food cost, labor cost, purchasing, and inventory controls
  • Develop and manage kitchen budgets with a strong understanding of P&L performance and profitability
  • Source high-quality seasonal ingredients and build relationships with local farmers and purveyors
  • Collaborate with ownership, design, and operations teams during concept development and openings
  • Foster a positive, professional kitchen culture focused on mentorship and team development
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of leadership experience as an Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine in fine dining or chef-driven restaurants
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing kitchen budgets, food cost, labor, and inventory systems
  • Experience opening new restaurants or launching culinary concepts preferred
  • Proven ability to build, mentor, and retain strong kitchen teams
  • Deep knowledge of seasonal cuisine, sourcing, and modern culinary techniques
  • A collaborative mindset and passion for hospitality
