PGA of America Execusearch is conducting the search for the Executive Chef position at Lost Lake Woods Club in Michigan.

Lost Lake Woods Club (LLWC) is a private, member-owned, family resort and gated community located in Alcona County, Michigan, nestled in the northeastern region of the Lower Peninsula near Hubbard Lake. Established in 1926 as a family-oriented conservation club, LLWC has remained a premier destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering over 10,000 acres of prime hunting land, five pristine lakes, and a wealth of recreational opportunities.

Members and their guests enjoy an exceptional 18-hole private golf course, which underwent a transformative redesign by Jerry Matthews & Associates in 2000, enhancing both its playability and scenic beauty. The club also features a 52-room lodge with dining and banquet facilities, an 84-site campground, horse stables, and an extensive selection of shooting sports facilities, including rifle and pistol ranges, skeet & trap, sporting clays, and archery courses.

Campground

Our 84-site campground is open from April 1-December 31 each year. The campground features water, sewer, electricity, and a modern bathhouse with restrooms, showers, a washer, and a dryer. The campground also has storage available on a first come first serve basis and should only be used when the member is present in the campground. 

Trail Sports & Horse Stables

LLWC is home to miles of beautiful two-track trails for responsible riders to enjoy. It is important to remember that there are many forms of vehicles on the trails including ATVs, motorcycles, bicycles, dune buggies, cars, trucks, logging trucks, work vehicles, snowmobiles, and horses.

Hunting & Fishing

With over 10,000 acres of diverse wilderness and five pristine lakes, Lost Lake Woods Club (LLWC) is a true sportsman’s paradise. The landscape ranges from managed wetlands to towering oak ridges, providing the perfect setting for an unparalleled hunting and fishing experience.

For hunters, LLWC offers prime habitat for whitetail deer, black bears, turkeys, ruffed grouse, woodcocks, ducks, geese, rabbits, squirrels, coyotes, raccoons, and bobcats. The club’s professionally designed wildlife management program ensures a thriving and sustainable game population. Strategically placed fields, feeders, and woodcuts enhance hunting opportunities, while diverse terrain—including high oak ridges, dense swamps, popple stands, and marshes—offers a challenge for every sportsman.

Anglers will find exceptional fishing across the club’s five lakes, where trophy northern pike, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, trout, walleye, perch, and various panfish await. Whether casting from shore or venturing out by boat, LLWC guarantees a memorable fishing experience.

Position Description: The Executive Chef opportunity at Lost Lake Woods Club offers an outstanding chance for candidates with a proven track record of leadership and culinary skills to lead the culinary team in serving members at one of the premier private clubs in the area. This is a working Executive Chef position. The Club's diverse dining venues, high-end banquet spaces, and busy a la carte dining require candidates with experience in high-quality and high-touch environments frequently enjoyed by the membership.

This role best suits candidates with exceptional organizational skills, steady and thoughtful leadership, and effective communication skills for consistent execution. The Executive Chef will work closely with the well-respected executive team within an exceptional Club culture to ensure culinary offerings align with the Club's standards of excellence and contribute to an exceptional dining experience for members and guests alike.

The Executive Chef (EC) is a key leader within the food and beverage team who is responsible for the execution of cuisine to the Club membership. CULINARY OVERVIEW

Food and Beverage Program:

• Members receive the best in service and menu options in an inviting atmosphere. Offering both casual comfort and a formal ambiance, The Lost Lake Woods Club offer a variety of dining options including casual and fine dining. Each dish is meticulously prepared by our award-winning chef using the freshest ingredients and the highest quality products. Chef’s Specials are served Wednesday through Saturday. 

Five Lakes Grill:

• Five Lakes Grill consists of dining rooms: Five Lakes Grill (seats 80 people). This area is open three days a week for happy hour and dinner during the main season. The Five Lakes Grill is open from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM.
• Tiki Patio (seats 32 people) and Lost Lure Pub (seats 65 people) are open 5 days a week 4:00 PM -9:00 PM, (4:00 PM-11:00 PM Fridays and Saturdays). The Club is looking for ways to help increase usage of the F&B operation.

Club Events: 

• The Lost Lake Woods Club is a social club. The Executive Chef will work closely with the food and beverage team to create over 40-50 signature events throughout the year totaling over $350,000.00 in revenue each year. The Club strives to have great and unique brunch buffets and be the trendsetter for other clubs in the area.

Banquets: 

• The Executive Chef will work closely with the Events Coordinator to help build and increase the banquet department revenue while providing first-class events to the membership and outside membership. The Executive Chef will work with the correct individuals to make sure all pricing is up to date in the Catering Guide and will provide updates to it as needed.
