About Mastermind Hair Show

Mastermind Hair Show is a two day beauty industry conference in Houston, Texas bringing together stylists, salon owners, educators, barbers, and brand leaders. The event features main stage panels, hands on education, live competitions with cash prizes, and a charity mission called the Unlock Purpose Fund, which funds cosmetology training inside correctional facilities. MHS is built for beauty professionals who know they were made for more.


The Role

We are looking for an exceptionally organized, proactive, and communicative Executive Assistant Intern to work closely with our founder and executive producer. This is a high trust role. The founder operates at the executive level, focused on sponsors, pitching, and big picture strategy. You keep everything else moving.

You will receive information from the founder via texts, voice memos, and quick calls. Your job is to turn those inputs into clear action items, manage the calendar, follow up with team members and vendors, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. You are the person who makes the founder more effective every single day.


What You Will Do
  • Receive communications from the founder (texts, voice memos, verbal direction) and organize them into clear prioritized task lists
  • Manage the founder's calendar including scheduling meetings, reminders, and follow up prompts
  • Reach out to team members, vendors, and partners on the founder's behalf to get updates, confirm details, and keep timelines on track
  • Draft and send professional communications including emails, check in messages, and coordination notes
  • Maintain and update operational documents, vendor agreements, and production timelines
  • Track outstanding deliverables and flag items that need the founder's attention
  • Support day of logistics coordination leading up to and during the event on July 17-18
  • Handle personal assistant tasks as assigned, including research, scheduling, and administrative support


What We Are Looking For
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program (Business Administration, Communications, Event Management, or related field preferred)
  • Based in Houston, Texas  in person availability is required for this role
  • Exceptionally organized  you are the person who makes lists for your lists
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Calm under pressure and able to handle a fast paced, evolving environment
  • Discreet and trustworthy  you will have access to sensitive business information
  • Proactive problem solver  you do not wait to be told what to do next
  • Comfortable with Google Workspace, text communication, and task management tools
