About the Role
Bierlein Companies is seeking an experienced and driven Estimator / Project Manager to join our growing team. This individual will play a key role in estimating, bidding, and managing demolition and industrial projects from initial opportunity through project completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of demolition, construction, or heavy industrial work along with the ability to build relationships, manage multiple projects, and deliver successful outcomes for both customers and the company. Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates and proposals for demolition, dismantling, environmental, and specialty service projects
- Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements
- Conduct site visits to evaluate project scope, logistics, hazards, and operational requirements
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, vendors, and subcontractors
- Manage projects from award through completion, including scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and customer communication
- Coordinate with field leadership, superintendents, and operations teams to ensure safe and efficient project execution
- Monitor project costs, production, schedules, and overall profitability throughout the life of the project
- Assist with change orders, contract management, and project documentation
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards, environmental regulations, and customer requirements
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities while supporting the continued growth of the company
- Participate in project meetings, customer visits, and pre-bid walkthroughs as needed
Qualifications
- Experience in estimating and/or project management within demolition, heavy civil, industrial construction, environmental, or related industries
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
- Strong understanding of construction methods, project scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating/project management software preferred
- Willingness to travel based on project and customer needs
