Leading ground-up construction firm looking to add an Assistant Estimator to the team!


Your new company

Our client is a family-owned General Contractor based in Brooklyn, NY. They are a full-service construction firm devoted to the commercial, public, residential and industrial sectors.

Your new role

As an Assistant Estimator, you will be contributing to the preparation and delivery of preconstruction services, including performing quantity takeoffs, gathering subcontractor deliverables, and preparing estimate tab sheets. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include supporting senior estimators with the development of budgets and bid proposals, reviewing drawings to understand scope requirements, coordinating with subcontractors for pricing, and helping prepare scope sheets and bid packages. The Assistant Estimator participates in subcontractor outreach, updates internal databases and templates, and ensures accurate, timely communication across the preconstruction and project teams.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 2–4 years of estimating experience in the construction industry within a GC or subcontractor environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
  • Comfortable communicating with subcontractors to request pricing and clarify scope
  • Previous experience performing take-offs.
  • Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and building systems
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced preconstruction environment
  • Proficiency in On-screen Takeoff is highly preferred


What They Offer
