Position: Estimator
Location: Long Island, NY (Remote or Hybrid will be considered)
Industry: Exhibits, Millwork, Cabinetry, Retail Displays, Design-Build, Signage
We’re looking for an experienced Estimator to join a fast-paced, collaborative team. This role is key to project success, delivering accurate estimates for custom millwork, trade show exhibits, and specialty fabrication. Remote candidates with the right industry background will be considered.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop detailed cost estimates for exhibits, millwork, and custom fabrication
- Perform takeoffs from drawings, renderings, and specifications
- Source and evaluate vendor pricing for materials, finishes, and hardware
- Estimate shop labor hours for fabrication and installation
- Prepare scopes of work and collaborate with Account Managers on proposals
- Revise estimates as project scope evolves
- Provide value engineering recommendations to align cost with design intent
- Work closely with project managers, account teams, and production
- Independently produce high-value bids ($100K+) with accuracy and accountability
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of estimating experience in millwork, cabinetry, or trade show fabrication (General Contracting not applicable)
- Strong understanding of fabrication methods, materials, and finishes (wood, laminates, metals, solid surfaces)
- Ability to read shop drawings, architectural plans, and 3D renderings
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel); Bluebeam, AutoCAD, FileMaker Pro, QuickBooks a plus
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
