My Client, a global Engineering, Construction and Project Management company, is looking for a ES&H representative for a 1 year W2 Contract. You will be onsite full time, working 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off. All expenses will be covered as this will require being onsite away from home, and trips home will be covered too
You will be working for the ECPM in one of the largest lithium mines in the USA. The EPCM contractor is responsible for managing and integrating the efforts of a team of contractors engineering and building the facility. In this role, you will provide technical oversight of the project’s ES&H compliance activities through inspection of project field execution activities. You will assist project and construction management in implementing and complying with project safety requirements and in addressing ES&H issues as they arise during project execution. You will work directly with other project-level functions (e.g., engineering, construction, subcontracts, procurement, project controls, document controls) to assist them in addressing the applicable ES&H requirements in their work activities and conduct daily site surveillance to verify adequate use of PPE, routine equipment inspections, project ES&H initiatives.
Major Responsibilities:
Coordinates a wide variety of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) disciplines to facilitate implementation of the contractors ES&H program and ES&H Management System, including aiding compliance with ES&H standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and contractual commitments.
Delivers toolbox talks and participates in site meetings with project team members, and contractors/subcontractors to advise them of safety requirements.
Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary for the safety and health of employees and protection of the environment and communities.
Maintains ES&H databases, inclusive of incident events, audit/assessment findings, and corrective actions.
Performs statistical analysis of ES&H data to identify performance trends and contributing factors as part of continuous improvement and makes recommendations accordingly Identifies and coordinates unique software systems and electronic innovation used by ES&H personnel
Leads teams in conducting risk assessment, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring in response to ES&H issues
Prepares communications, writes reports, and prepares documents for program execution and records retention
Coordinates incident notifications, leads investigations, and prepares incident investigation reports Recommends and implements improvements in processes, procedures, and work activities to minimize hazard potential
Participates in and may lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs
Coordinates ES&H recognition programs
Researches moderately complex issues and provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s or Master's degree (or international equivalent) related to environmental, safety, health or science-related discipline and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910 required
Perform root cause analysis as needed for incident investigations
Conducts Project Contractor Orientation & Coaches Contractor Project and Safety Team
Leads and implements Project ESH Audits, monitoring completion of specified corrective actions Knowledge of safety programs/engineering systems, principles, and methodologies.
Knowledge of national safety laws/regulations and regulatory agencies’ regulatory requirements and responsibilities, industry standards/current practices for ES&H, and best management practices for minimizing potential ES&H risks during project execution.
Experience in ES&H assessments/inspection during construction.
Experience in managing and/or providing technical oversight of ES&H subcontractors or consultants.
