Equipment tech is responsible for supporting daily operations, responding to equipment issues and maintaining accurate service documentation.      


Principal Accountabilities:


1. Responsible to track and log active and nonfunctional infant transponders as well as borrowed infant transponders from neighboring hospitals. 

2. Give biweekly report to managers.

3. Oversee proper storage, maintenance and inventory of all equipment for the Maternity Center, both stationary and movable equipment. 
4. Keeps and updates master inventory of all equipment for Maternity Center
5. Maintains communication with others, works in a self-directed manner, accurately communicating pertinent information to appropriate personnel.
6. Keeps managers, ANMs, and charge nurse informed of status of supplies and equipment. 
7. Maintains an orderly and safe environment, to OSHA, JACHO, Board of Health and Hospital standards and requirements. 
8. Labor and Delivery unit specific-maintain patient rooms with all necessary pieces of equipment.
9. Newborn nursery unit specific-maintain inventory, functionality and cleanliness of nursery equipment. 
10. Mother Baby unit specific-maintain inventory, functionality and cleanliness of all post-partum equipment.
11. Respond promptly to urgent equipment issues to support patient care and minimize downtime. 

12. Maintain proper inventory, labeling supplies, monitoring for expiration dates and communicating with any new supply introduced or substitute items. 

13. Ordering supplies for department. 

14. transporting and retrieving equipment to Central Sterile Processing and Clinical Engineering departments. 
15. Other related duties as assigned.
