Environmental Services Technician

Overview

We are seeking anEnvironmental Services Technician, also referred to asaEVSTech or Environmental Aide.The EVS Techensures a safe and healthy environment by cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, operating rooms, andcommon areasto prevent infection.The EVS Tech willhandle waste disposal, restock supplies,maintainfloors and surfaces, and respond to urgent cleaning needs.This position is on a per diem basis, meaningPD/PRN as needed.

Shift’s Available: Evenings

Hours: 3:00pm - 11:30pm

Location: Dallas RegionalMedical Center– Mesquite, TX

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, andcommon areasto prevent the spread of infections

• Properly disposing of medical and hazardous waste according to hospital protocols

• Restock supplies like gloves, masks, and cleaning materials in various hospital areas

• Clean andmaintainfloors, restrooms, and other surfaces using specialized equipment and chemicals

• Respond to urgent cleaning needs such as spills or contamination incidents and communicate promptly using phone, handheld radios, pagers, and other devices

• Maintaina high levelof cleanliness within the hospital and adjacent buildings, which may require traveling between facilities independently

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

One (1) year of knowledge within acute care hospital environmental service techniques, practices and procedures preferred.High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.. Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively.
