Job Description

The Environmental Service Attendant works on-site at campus facilities to perform custodial and general cleaning duties that keep buildings and grounds clean, safe, and orderly. This role supports dormitories, academic buildings, and athletic facilities by maintaining a consistently high standard of cleanliness and appearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily custodial duties to maintain clean and orderly dormitories, academic buildings, and athletic facilities.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, common areas, hallways, and other high-traffic spaces according to established standards.
• Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and remove trash from offices, residential areas, and shared spaces.
• Clean and maintain entrances, lobbies, stairwells, and corridors to ensure a neat and welcoming environment.
• Support grounds cleanliness around assigned buildings by picking up debris and maintaining tidy exterior areas as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and use cleaning supplies and equipment according to guidelines.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues, such as spills, hazards, or damaged fixtures, to the appropriate personnel.
• Work assigned shifts reliably, including PM shifts and weekend schedules, to ensure continuous coverage.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete cleaning tasks efficiently and on schedule.
• Maintain proper storage and organization of cleaning materials, tools, and equipment after each shift.

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform general janitorial, custodial, and cleaning duties consistently and reliably.
• Capability to clean offices, dorms, academic spaces, and athletic facilities to defined standards.
• Willingness to perform general labor tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving cleaning equipment and supplies as needed.
• Ability to follow instructions, cleaning schedules, and safety procedures.
• Dependability in adhering to assigned shifts, including evening and weekend hours.
• No prior experience required.
• No specific education required.
• No certifications required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and order.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good time management skills to complete assigned tasks within the scheduled shift.
• Comfort working in a variety of facility types, including dormitories, classrooms, offices, and athletic spaces.

Work Environment

This role is fully on-site at campus facilities, including dormitories, academic buildings, and athletic facilities. The work takes place in a temperature-controlled environment, providing a comfortable and consistent setting throughout the year. Shifts include both day and night shift. The position involves regular use of standard cleaning tools and supplies in indoor environments with frequent movement throughout buildings and grounds.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bowling Green, KY.

The pay range for this position is $13.72 - $13.72/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Bowling Green,KY.
