Job Title: Environmental Engineering Technician

Job Description

This role involves hands-on work at project sites, supporting environmental assessments, remediation efforts, and regulatory compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technicalbackground, field experience, and a passion for environmental engineering.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
• Perform soil, groundwater, surface water, and air sampling in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Support remedial design and implementation for contaminated sites, including Brownfield redevelopment.
• Maintain accurate field logs, chain-of-custody documentation, and safety protocols.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant field experience preferred.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in geology, construction, engineering, environmental science, and remediation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• EIT or PE license is a plus.
• Familiarity with HTRW, radiological remediation, and landfill operations is desirable.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites and work in varying field conditions.

Work Environment

This position involves a blend of 50% field work and 50% office duties. It requires travel to project sites, such as those in Rochester or Jamestown, as necessary. The work environment promotes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists, offering opportunities for professional growth and licensure support.
