Weston Solutions is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Environmental Scientist or Geologist to support our highly successful US EPA START program. This senior‑level role provides broad leadership, project management, and field experience, working on complex and high‑impact assignments for a strategic EPA client.This role requires participation in a 24/7 on‑call rotation to support environmental emergencies.Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage project tasks.
Serve as field team lead for complex investigations and response activities
Coordinate and perform field sampling, data collection, and analytical activities
Interpret environmental data and prepare interim and final technical reports
Maintain frequent and effective communication with Project Managers and clients
Oversee and coordinate subcontractors and junior staff
Act as a technical resource and subject matter expert in at least one service line
Assist with proposal development, scope definition, scheduling, and cost tracking
Mentor junior staff and contribute to practice group knowledge sharing
Participate in client presentations and technical briefings
Support emergency response activities, including hazardous substance and oil spill incidents

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field
Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience
40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification
Direct on‑scene experience with hazardous substances and oil releases/spills
Demonstrated technical independence
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet time‑sensitive deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office®
Ability to lead teams formally or informally and work effectively in a collaborative environment
Commitment to Weston’s Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) program
Physical & Field Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to wear required PPE, including for HTRW and chemical response work
