Overview
Kimley-Horn's Fort Worth office is seeking a Environmental Planner to join our Power Delivery team!
Responsibilities
- Prepare Environmental Quality Act documents, environmental impact reports, and negative and mitigated negative declarations
- Secures permits, ensures compliance and manages ecological risks for transmission lines and substations.
- Conducts route analysis for new transmission lines and selecting sites for substations to minimize environmental impact.
- Perform a variety of tasks, supporting various project managers and collaborating with team members.
- Environmental clearance associated with local comprehensive plans/local land use planning
- Develops EMPs (Environmental Management Plans) to manage land disruption, noise, erosion, and vegetation management during construction.
Qualifications
- Degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Environmentlal Planning (or other degree applicable to the planning field)
- 10+ years of experience conducting environmental studies for local agencies and private entities
- Experience with a wide range of tasks related to environmental planning
- Understanding of the agencies involved with the Environmental Quality Act process as well as the state's Land Planning Law
- Experience with NEPA compliance is a plus
- Strong writing/verbal skills
- Working knowledge of GIS/ArcView
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
- Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
- Ability to work independently and as a team
