Environmental Health Safety Specialist

Overview

Support EHS initiatives at a manufacturing facility with rotating machinery, cutting tools, heat bars, and industrial ovens. Handle environmental permit compliance, assist with safety programs, and contribute to safety culture across operations.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance:

• Assist with environmental permit reporting; maintain compliance documentation for air and water permits

Safety Support:

• Conduct hazard assessments for machinery, thermal, and chemical hazards; support OSHA compliance efforts
• Incident Management:
• Participate in incident investigations, track safety metrics (TRIR,DART), identify trends
• Training & Documentation:
• Deliver safety training, maintain records, assist with SOP development
• Emergency Response:
• Support emergency planning and drills; assist with facility safety inspections

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
• 2+ years of EHS/manufacturing experience
• OSHA compliance knowledge (1910 standards, recordkeeping)
• Environmental permit and regulatory reporting experience
• Ability to work in manufacturing environments with machinery and chemical exposure
