Job Summary:

Seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to help drive a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. This role partners closely with site leadership and employees to support safe operations, minimize risk, and promote continuous improvement in EHS performance within a high-volume manufacturing environment.


Job Duties:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs in alignment with corporate standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver safety training programs including new hire orientation, toolbox talks, and ongoing compliance training (e.g., lockout/tagout, fall protection, PPE).
  • Lead and support safety committee initiatives, meetings, and engagement activities to reinforce a strong safety culture.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to identify potential safety, health, and environmental risks; recommend and track corrective actions through completion.
  • Maintain required documentation and reporting in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA recordkeeping.
  • Partner cross-functionally to investigate incidents, near misses, and workplace injuries; assist in root cause analysis and implementation of preventative measures.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and external partners to support workers’ compensation processes and reduce lost-time incidents.
  • Provide safety communication materials such as signage, procedures, and hazard controls to ensure awareness and compliance.
  • Coach supervisors and team members on hazard recognition, risk mitigation, and safe work practices.
  • Represent the organization in industry safety initiatives or community-related EHS activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company safety standards.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support site safety objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline OR equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in EHS, safety, or related function within a manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and safety compliance practices.
  • OSHA 10- or 30-hour certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire).
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire).
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Strong communication, training, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
