Environmental Field Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Field Technician to join our team and support a variety of environmental projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on fieldwork, working outdoors, and contributing to environmental monitoring and remediation efforts. The Environmental Field Technician will assist with field sampling, data collection, and site activities while working closely with project managers and environmental scientists.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in the environmental field and grow your technical skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform environmental field sampling, including soil, groundwater, surface water, and vapor sampling
  • Assist with environmental monitoring, site investigations, and remediation activities
  • Operate field equipment and instruments in accordance with established procedures
  • Accurately document field observations, measurements, and sampling data
  • Maintain and prepare sampling equipment and supplies
  • Follow health, safety, and environmental protocols while working in the field
  • Communicate effectively with project managers and team members regarding field activities
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field preferred)
  • Willingness to perform outdoor and physically demanding fieldwork
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record data
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with environmental sampling or fieldwork
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and site safety practices
  • Experience with groundwater sampling, drilling oversight, or remediation support
  • OSHA 40‑Hour HAZWOPER certification (or willingness to obtain)
Work Environment
  • Combination of outdoor fieldwork and limited office or reporting tasks
  • May involve travel to local or regional project sites
  • Work may include exposure to varying weather conditions and physical activity such as walking, lifting, and standing for extended periods

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.
