Job Summary

Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time EVS Technician. The EVS will be responsible for all housekeeping duties of OHL’sfacilities.  The EVS will perform avariety of cleaning and maintenance duties. The EVS will be in charge ofmaintaining all program sites/facilities to employer standards. Duties willinclude cleaning and keeping facilties neat.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

It is the duty and responsibility of the EVS to:

·      keepbuildings in clean and orderly condition;

·      performmild cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, showers walls and drains, living;quarters, washing walls, windows, and handrails, removing debris and trash;

·      carrylinens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies;

·      disinfect equipment and supplies, ensuring safeand sanitary storage and care of products;

·      polish furniture and room accessories as needed;

·      clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors;

·      report repairs and replacements needed whenencountered on job;

·      monitor chemicals by tracking chemicals withsign in/out sheet;

·      maintaining daily log of duties perform and time;

·      clean rooms, hallways, dining rooms and grouprooms, restrooms, corridors, stairways, dorm rooms, and other work areas sothat health standards are met;

·      emptywastebaskets, empty and clean and transport other trash and waste to disposalareas;

·      transportof supplies (will be reimbursed for travel);

·      empty all trash, clean dining rooms and kitchensat all location (if one is available);

·      coordinatewith other staff and supervisor daily to ensure that services are provided inan efficient and timely manner;

·      perform or assist with cleaning duties as needed;

·      confer with staff to discuss company policies forcleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment;

·      monitor building security and safety byperforming such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checkingelectrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created;

·      light maintenance work;

·      meal pick-up and drop-off for the Detox Program,breakfast at 6am, lunch at 11am and dinner at 4pm);

·      deep clean all facilities every two weeks;

·      clean facility floors once a week at Administrativeoffices;

·      clean bathroom floors twice a week; and

·      perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Lifting, twisting,standing, bending and traveling to and from facility locations. 90% of workwill require some sort of physical activity to be performed. Employee will berequired to travel from time to time and must be willing to accommodate needsof various sites. Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walkduring daily routine, with ability to stand for long lengths of time. Physicallyable to push vacuum cleaner for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to25 to 60 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 Work is performed throughout treatment facilities,administrative offices, and residential living quarters, which are temperaturecontrolled. Employee is expected towork in various facility locations.

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications include the following:

  • General knowledge of cleaning products,supplies, and techniques for cleaning
  • Reliable and punctual with a dedicated professionalism to job and duties
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work well alone, or with a partner or team
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules or routines
  • Ability to assist team members with cleaning duties when needed
  • Detail-oriented
  • Reliablemode of transportation

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include the following:

  • 2or more years’ experience with commercial cleaning services
  • Advancedknowledge of cleaning products, implements and practices
