Environmental, Health & Safety Manager Support

Duration: 3-year contract, with likelihood of extension

Hours: Part-time with additional hours as needed (20 hours for year 1, 40 hours for year 2, 20 hours for year 3)

Position Summary

We are looking for an EH&S Manager Support Services to act as our Client's designated Owner’s Representative for Facilities Capital Projects. This person will be responsible for providing professional EH&S Manager Support Services, overseeing and coordinating all aspects of EH&S support for capital projects while ensuring alignment with The Client’s objectives, operational requirements, and quality standards.


These services shall include, but are not limited to, working closely with The Client’s Foster City EH&S team to guide the new facility project and ensure alignment with The Client’s EH&S standards and compliance requirements as outlined in this Scope of Services.


General Responsibilities

This individual will act as the designated Owner Representative and Subject Matter Expert (SME) on behalf of EH&S, providing oversight and coordination for capital projects while ensuring alignment with objectives.


Key Tasks

  • Participating in project meetings such as owner-architect-contractor (OAC) meetings, design meetings, and related project meetings.
  • Supporting the permitting process for all related environmental permitting and waste generation coordination during the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinating and managing daily activities during construction, startup, and commissioning.
  • Reviewing documents and Request for Information (RFI) submittals.
  • Reviewing Hazardous Monitoring System (HMS) systems and program documents.
  • Performing waste analysis and program design.
  • Coordinating closely with The Client’s project team.
  • Coordinating with owner vendors, including the Design Team, general contractors, and other vendors.
  • Coordinating with regulatory authorities.
  • Providing additional EH&S Manager Support Services as agreed upon by The Client and the Supplier.


Key Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant EH&S experience required.
  • Knowledge and experience with understanding design documents, drawings, and specifications for GMP facilities.
  • Experience with facility process utility systems and process equipment.
  • Fluent in a risk-based approach to qualification.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work in cross-functional teams and prioritize tasks.
  • Self-driven, performance-oriented, and results-focused in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong project management skills, including adherence to project schedules, awareness of project budgets, ensuring timely execution of tasks, and effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to follow The Client’s practices and processes as documented in The Client’s Good Engineering Practices (GEPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and associated documents.
  • Ability to establish and maintain clear, concise, and effective stakeholder communication.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes, regulations, and standards, as well as regulatory and organizational requirements, while proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks.
  • Ensure the proper, efficient, and effective utilization of The Client’s designated systems, tools, and platforms to perform all job responsibilities, including project tracking, documentation, reporting, and communication, in strict adherence to The Client’s operational standards and protocols.
