EHS Manager - Plastics Manufacturing - Base Salary to 100k/year - Commerce, CA
Our client, a growing plastics manufacturing organization, is seeking an EHS Manager to lead safety, compliance, and environmental programs at their production facility in Commerce, CA. This is a hands-on role supporting a manufacturing environment with regulated processes, industrial hygiene considerations, and cleanroom operations.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and audit Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs in a manufacturing environment
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations including OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and environmental standards
Create, update, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to safety and compliance
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
Administer and monitor industrial hygiene programs (air sampling, exposure monitoring, PPE requirements)
Maintain and manage required documentation including OSHA logs, safety records, and audit reports
Conduct new hire safety orientation and ongoing employee training programs
Support and promote safe work practices within a Class 8 cleanroom environment
Partner with operations and leadership to improve safety performance and reduce risk
Provide technical EHS guidance across departments within the facility
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
3+ years of EHS experience within a manufacturing environment
Experience with OSHA or Cal/OSHA regulations and compliance programs
Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions
Experience developing and maintaining safety programs, SOPs, and training initiatives
Experience with industrial hygiene monitoring and PPE programs
