POSITION OVERVIEW
The Superintendent, Rotating Equipment Engineering reports to the Engineering Support Manager and has oversight and charge of the Rotating Equipment Engineering Department. This role will provide leadership and direction to Rotating Equipment Engineers that serve as the technical stewards for all rotating equipment at the facility including gas turbines, process compressors, fin-fans, pumps, blowers, gear boxes, mixers, diesel drivers, and any other rotating equipment. Ensures optimum asset management of plant facilities, equipment, and capital to provide safe and reliable delivery of LNG in compliance with regulations. The Rotating Equipment Engineering Superintendent ensures that coordination among plant personnel and contractors and protects the resources, assets, and workers that are required to operate the terminal.
This is a non-DOT position.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Supports line Manager on the successful implementation of Goals and initiatives for the Rotating Equipment Engineering Discipline.
Coordinates and develops proposals for plant improvements including design basis and preliminary estimates and budgets for capital projects.
Provide technical guidance during development and construction, supporting the capital projects team as required.
Drive development and implementation of Company and Engineering Services initiatives.
Promotes a strong safety culture and ensures adherence to HSE standards.
Reviews and approves design modifications and facility additions and ensures that management of change (MOC) process is adhered to, and that adequate records and documents are initiated and maintained.
Develops and implements employee training and development plans to ensure the Rotating Equipment department has essential competencies and capabilities to meet business needs.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge:
The Superintendent, Rotating Equipment Engineering must understand all facets of LNG transportation, storage, and processing including safety and security, maintenance, operations, governmental regulations, and associated codes and standards. In-depth knowledge of and experience with technical processes; project and design engineering; environmental quality; quality assurance; methods and procedures for monitoring costs and developing budgets. The Superintendent, Rotating Equipment Engineering must have a general understanding of human resources policies, processes, and employee relations principles. A high level of health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) awareness is required.
Skills:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education, Training and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required.
Experience: Minimum of ten (10)+ years’ of relevant experience in an industrial environment in engineering, maintenance, or operations. Recent experience with LNG is preferred, however, refining or petrochemical industry experience is acceptable. Previous leadership experience is highly desirable.

WORK CONDITIONS
Job is performed in an industrial plant environment.
Occasionally, work may be performed from home, after normal work hours or on weekends.
Limited travel required, as business conditions dictate.
Subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations or as required by Cheniere.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, work at height above ground on stairs and catwalks, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, smell, type and write.
Must be able to board a ship via a gangway, climb to the top of a tank (200+ steps), scale vertical steel ladder up to forty feet or more in height and lift and move objects weighting up to 50 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work indoors and outdoors, and be exposed to year-around weather conditions, ocean environment, and noise. There is a considerable amount of outdoor activities involved.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Required to pass regularly scheduled physical examinations mandated by regulatory authorities.
Required to obtain mandated certification by attending Company-sponsored training in basic first aid, and CPR.
Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status.
