We’re seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to lead high‑impact civil engineering projects that support a growing and resilient power generation industry. In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted technical leader, guiding complex projects across land development, industrial facilities, power generation, and solar—while mentoring talented engineers and shaping smarter, more sustainable engineering solutions.

What You’ll Do
Lead & Influence
- Act as an experienced technical advisor, applying advanced civil engineering principles to complex, multi‑disciplinary projects.
- Provide hands‑on leadership to a team of engineers and technicians, fostering collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
- Mentor emerging engineers, supporting professional growth and long‑term career development.
Drive Projects from Vision to Completion
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering activities for multiple major projects—or own a project end‑to‑end.
- Serve as Project Manager on select assignments, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and stakeholder communication.
- Analyze and refine project management plans to ensure feasibility, efficiency, and alignment with client and organizational goals.
- Apply risk management principles to anticipate challenges and deliver projects successfully.
Innovate & Improve
- Develop and implement new techniques, tools, and processes to elevate quality, performance, and efficiency.
- Stay current on emerging technologies, standards, and industry trends—and translate them into practical project solutions.
- Evaluate projects from a systems and sustainability perspective, considering long‑term performance, operations, and environmental impact.
- Champion continuous improvement across design methodologies and internal processes.
Collaborate & Communicate
- Work closely with internal teams, clients, and external partners to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Clearly communicate technical concepts, decisions, and project status to diverse audiences.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of civil engineering experience with strong applied design and project delivery expertise.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams (minimum of 2+ direct reports), including task assignment, technical review, and coaching.
- Proven experience in civil engineering design for land development, industrial facilities, power generation, and/or solar projects.
- Strong project management skills, including scheduling, coordination, budgeting, and resource planning.
- Experience analyzing complex project management plans and managing delivery risks.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel 5%–10% for site visits or collaboration as needed.
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (civil) strongly preferred.
- Experience in power generation, renewable energy, or solar projects.
- Experience in industrial and large‑scale land development projects.
- Comfort working with minimal supervision under broad objectives.
- A strong interest in sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glen Allen, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52.88 - $72.12/hr.
