Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Facility: Advocate Trinity Hospital – Emergency Department

Location: Chicago, IL

Shift: 12‑Hour Night Shifts

Shift Time: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Weekly Hours: 36

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Guaranteed Hours: Yes

Position Summary

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) provides high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a fast‑paced emergency setting. The RN is responsible for rapid assessment, stabilization, and management of patients presenting with a wide variety of urgent and emergent medical conditions while working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience (community or acute‑care setting)
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Preferred Certification:

• TNCC

Essential Skills & Competencies:

• Strong IV insertion and vascular access skills
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and continuous monitoring
• Foley catheter and nasogastric tube (NGT) placement and management
• Ventilator management, including post‑cardiac arrest care
• Execution of STEMI, CVA, and sepsis protocols
• Safe titration of critical and emergency medications
• Strong assessment, critical‑thinking, and prioritization abilities
• Ability to function independently with minimal orientation
• High situational awareness and rapid response to changing patient conditions
• Proficiency in EMR documentation (EPIC preferred)

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
